These designs will feature higher ground clearance, heavy-duty suspension, and sometimes have a four-wheel drive option. Newer models feature greater operator comfort for long all day outdoors use. Diesel powered all terrain forklift are ideal for mining or construction sites, where many other vehicles also use diesel.
Walkie Stackers and Pedestrian Forklifts

They have electrically powered lifting, but are manually guided by the operator who walks behind them. They do not require a forklift licence, just some basic training. - Where it will be used
- The loads it will carry – weight and physical volume.
- Aisle width inside the building – the forklift must have easy manoeuvring room.
- Lifting height – shelf height in the warehouse, or unloading a truck
- The power or fuel you will have available.
- Duty cycle of the power. Ideally, we can get a day’s work on one electrical charge.
Electric forklifts are well-suited to indoor operations, while LPG, diesel, or all-terrain models may be better for outdoor environments. Safety, operator comfort, and long-term operating costs should be factored in alongside purchase price.
